What was the hardest personal goal you’ve set for yourself? Since the 17th September I’ve painted a pet every single day. It’s been a really interesting challenge because even over that somewhat short time span I’ve seen my style develop and evolve. This is really obvious to me when I look at my instagram page.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime? I think myself very lucky to have grown up not only surrounded by artists, but being taught by them. My granny was an artist who worked in watercolour and pastel. My dad sculpting in clay and painting in oil. Over the years I have worked in many mediums.

What would you do if you lost all your possessions? I’m always in awe when my Scribbly sketch turns into life on the page in front of me. That something can be created from nothing. There are several stages I move through when I paint. I mix my base colours first and have them ready.

Your life without a computer: what does it look like? One of my favourite things to do in the morning is to take my mini watercolour pad with me and sketch some illustrations of things I see whilst I’m drinking my wake up coffee. I usually sit near the fountain next to my local coffee

What skill would you like to learn? I’m totally obsessed with the expression of animals. I think that really seeing an animal’s personality is a skill to be honed. A mouse is just a mouse until you stop and watch it. A cat is just a cat until you look into it’s eyes and realise

What details of your life could you pay more attention to? As an artist, I think it’s really important to make time for fun scribbles. A time to let your hands do the talking. My scribbles are generally things that pop into my head, a scene or a theme usually inspired by something I’ve seen
