I recently realised that often when I think I am uninspired, I’m actually worrying about whether what I want to draw or paint fits the mould of what people expect me to produce.

I recently heard an artist say “When you’re uninspired, pick up your brush and paint and then you will become inspired.”

So this morning, I imagined a cat peering through a vase of flowers, and although it’s not one of my typical pieces of artwork I followed the thought. And as I drew, I felt lit up. I adore the finished piece!
